At the southern end of the Kintyre Peninsula, on the extreme west coast of Scotland, is the picturesque village of Southend and the beautiful sandy beach of Dunaverty Bay. Between the village and the bay is Southend’s 18-hole golf course in a glorious setting with wonderful sea views. There is a shop with tea room in the village, while the Post Office is in the pub! Walk or cycle the Kintyre Way, established in 2006 and running for 161km from Tarbert all along the peninsula to Machrihanish. A lovely getaway and ideal for a couple break whether you’re seeking activities or tranquillity and relaxation.
